The

Campaign

The decision to run for this position was one that I did not make hastily. The decision took a lot of self-reflection, thought, and prayer. As Trustee, I have set out on three goals that I would want to fulfill:

1. Securing the well-being of our children

Youth are our future. Their physical and mental health are essential to their growth. There have been significant strides within the mainstream approach towards physical exercise and mental health however, more can be done. Children should be encouraged to walk to school, eat locally grown produce, ask thought provoking questions in class and be familiar with the importance of mental health. The nourishment of the brain, body and soul of our children will ensure the success of our community at large.

2. Advancing the status of marginalized peoples

3. Serving as an attentive community leader

The most important skill that any leader can possess is the ability to listen. The importance of being a connected and present advocate is rooted in the ability to speak up for what matters to the community. This crucial information can only be obtained through regular meetings with parents, students and educators.

Finally, the most basic expectation from a Catholic School Trustee is that they are a loud and proud voice for publically funded education. Thanks to the unpredictability of this provincial government, it would be a very impactful opportunity for the advocacy for Catholic Students to be delivered from a Catholic Youth. The ability to showcase to politicians the real face of Catholic education is an asset that none of the other candidates can provide.
